Technique Description
Procedure Steps:
Trocar placement
Creation of a long and narrow gastric pouch
Preparation of a tailored Bilio-Pancreatic limb according to patient BMI
Identification of a common limb at least 300 cm long
Linear stapled gastro-entero anastomosis
Closure of enterotomies with self-locking suture
Blue test
Learning Points:
Preparation of a long and narrow gastric pouch at least 12 cm long
Preparation of the anterior/posterior face of the stomach
Preparation of an adequate Bilio Pancreatic limb, neither too short (poor hypoabsorptive effect) nor too long (risk of protein malnutrition)
Clean closure of the anastomosis
