Dr. Sun chose pediatric surgery because he can make a lifelong difference in children’s health. His two young children were born during his pediatric surgery fellowship, and he understands how parents feel when they bring their children to the hospital.
Dr. Sun’s training includes:
An M.D. degree from the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine
A residency in general surgery at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, where he also served as an administrative chief resident
A research fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis
A pediatric surgery fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston
Advanced training in perinatal/fetal surgery at Texas Children’s Fetal Center
When he’s not working, Dr. Sun enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He enjoys cooking for his family, traveling, and spending time outdoors in the Pacific Northwest. He serves in the United States Air Force Reserve.
