Graduated from the University of Parma (ITA), completed his General Surgery and then Thoracic Surgery residency program and subsequently obtained a PhD Diploma in Cardio-thoracic Surgery. Enhanced his experience with Fellowships at Royal Brompton Hospital, London, UK (P Goldstraw ) and at Hôpital Pasteur CHU Nice, FRA (Professors J Moroux). Staff Surgeon at the National Cancer Center in Milan, Italy (Prof U Pastorino), Consultant at European Institute of Oncology (IEO) (Prof L Spaggiari), Consultant at Papworth Hospital, Cambridge (UK) in 2014 and as Chief Thoracic Surgeon Consultant in ASL Romagna, Italy.
Member of International Societies including ESTS, EACTS, IASLC, ERS, CTSnet and reviewer for peer-reviewed journals, has published >200 papers with over 5000 citations and an H-Index of 32 (https://www.scopus.com/authid/detail.uri?authorId=35556221200).
