
Dr. Latifa S. Sage Silski is an Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery and the Director of Student Clerkship at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She is a board-certified transplant surgeon specializing in liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants, as well as living donor kidney procedures and dialysis access surgeries.
Dr. Silski began her educational journey at Cuyahoga Community College, earning an associate degree in 2000. She then obtained bachelor's degrees in Chemistry and Dance from Case Western Reserve University in 2002. In 2011, she earned her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. She completed her general surgery residency at The Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center in 2016, followed by a fellowship in transplant surgery at the same institution in 2018.
Her clinical interests encompass general surgery, transplant surgery, vascular surgery, abdominal hernias, acute kidney injury, biliary tract liver disease, cirrhosis, kidney and liver diseases, and renal cancers.
In addition to her clinical and academic roles, Dr. Silski serves as a board member for SEED 4 ALL, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventive healthcare.
Dr. Silski is affiliated with multiple hospitals in Cincinnati, including Christ Hospital and the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Her commitment to advancing surgical education is evident through her contributions to peer-reviewed publications, such as her work on integrating point-of-care ultrasound into general surgery residency training.
