Farhat Din completed her medical degree at St Andrews and Manchester University prior to returning to Edinburgh to undertake surgical training. She completed her MD thesis in examining the molecular mechanisms underlying NSAID- mediated prevention of colorectal cancer in Professor Dunlop's research group. She was awarded a Cancer Research UK Clinician Scientist fellowship which she commenced in 2010. Currently she integrates her clinical practice as a colorectal surgeon with her translational research programme investigating the effects of chemopreventive agents on mTOR signalling in colorectal cancer.
