

The Philippine Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (PSCRS) was established in 1969. Its chief aim is to maintain the highest standards of surgical practice to promote the advancement of the science and art of surgery of the colon, rectum and anus.

Dr. Maureen Villanueva-Dumlao finished her medical studies at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine under the INTARMED program and completed her General Surgery residency training at the Philippine General Hospital. She also completed her Colorectal Surgery fellowship training in the same hospital and has been a fellow of the Philippine Society of Colorectal Surgeons since 2021. She is currently pursuing further training in advanced minimally invasive colorectal surgery at Singapore General Hospital. Her main professional and scientific interests focus on laparoscopic and robotic colorectal surgery, transanal total mesorectal excision and colorectal oncology.

Dr. Joseph Roy F. Fuentes is a dedicated colorectal surgeon with a profound commitment to providing exceptional care and innovative surgical solutions to his patients. He graduated as a Doctor of Medicine in 2001 at the Far Eastern University - Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation, and continued his postgraduate training from 2005 to 2014 at Rizal Medical Center, Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center, National University Hospital, and Singapore General Hospital. Today, he serves in several esteemed positions that allow him to make a meaningful impact on the lives of his patients and contribute to the advancement of the field of colorectal surgery. As the Vice President of the Philippine Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, he is committed to fostering a collaborative environment among his colleagues, sharing knowledge, and driving progress in his field. He is also the Section Chief in Colorectal Surgery at Rizal Medical Center, and a Senior Consultant in Colorectal Surgery at Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center, Quirino Memorial Medical Center, The Medical City, Healthway Cancer Care Hospital, Adventist Medical Center Manila, and Pasay City General Hospital. With a background in advanced training and a passion for improving patient outcomes, he strives to blend expertise with compassion in every aspect of his clinical practice. His unwavering dedication to remaining at the forefront of advancements in the field of colorectal surgery has allowed him to provide his patients with the most effective and innovative treatments available. He is enthusiastic about sharing these innovative approaches, as he believes in the power of collaboration and knowledge sharing to drive progress in the field.
